Staley House was awarded the Six Steps accreditation at a lavish ceremony at Hyde Town Hall in April 2012. Pictured receiving the award are (left to right) Heather, Louise (Manager), Louise (Deputy Manager), Linda and Emma.  During the ceremony Linda gave a well received speech about what the Six Steps meant to Staley House and to her personally. Staley House is one of a few residential homes in Stalybridge that were selected for this program.

The Six Steps accreditation is aligned with the Gold Standard Framework  and is achieved by working closely with the NHS to reduce hospital admissions by improving and expanding the care within a care home environment.  The program involves extra training for staff and improved processes for dealing with end-of-life situations.   Not only our staff but our residents and families benefit from the program.

Congratulations to all our staff for their hard work!

We would like give special thanks to Mrs. Julie Murphy from Tameside and Glossop Community Healthcare who provided the training, advice and support throughout the program. More details on the program can be found at http://www.endoflifecumbriaandlancashire.org.uk/six_steps.php
